Why Do People Both Hate and Love the USA?

Today, the USA is in the unique position of being the most loved and hated country on the planet, holding both titles simultaneously in the minds of many individuals. For those living inside of the USA, it is hard to understand how the country is being perceived by those from other places.

Americans are in the news lately very upset over their economy beginning to collapse. They will stand in front of large homes with well manicured grounds for television cameras, and explain their new financial woes that sound a bit silly to lesser-wealth countries while coming from people who still have homes, clothing, and food available.

While the people in the USA are told with an ink-stamp date to throw out usable food, it is logical that those without any food would learn to hate the people participating in this wasteful ritual. Can we blame the starving for hating a country who is crying about poverty, while they throw away food? Of course not; but Americans do not know how others are perceiving them right now.

American schools are ranking near the bottom of the list for the planet, but some in the USA are very quick to explain how the countries with better education must change to be identical to the lesser-quality American standards. The idea that the lowest levels of education should lead all global events seems silly to these people. Hate forms when Americans do not understand that others have better educations and abilities today.

But, America is very much loved at the same time for its completely wonderful entertainments and great sense of humor. There is nothing not to like about their Mickey Mouse, baseball games, and internet eBay establishments. The globe can not slight the USA for its talents within the entertainment industries. Americans have won the collective heart of the planet when it is time to relax and have some fun.

It doesn’t matter if people are vacationing in USA or just meeting individual Americans for chats on the internet, the bottom-line reads the same: Americans are a nice group of people who are hard not to love when friendships are formed. It is this total picture of the USA that has the planet both hating that country and loving that country at the same time. The USA is a very fascinating country.
